VPS guide
Self-managed or fully managed: choosing the right VPS
A VPS gives you dedicated resources and complete control. The biggest decision is who looks after the server.
Self-managed VPS
You get root access and full control over the operating system, software and security. It’s the most flexible and affordable option if you or your team are comfortable administering Linux servers.
The 1 vCPU plan is Linux-only without a control panel. If you plan to run a control panel or Windows, choose a plan with at least 2 GB of RAM.
Fully managed VPS
A dedicated team of experts manages your server, including setup, updates and monitoring. It’s a good fit for businesses that need VPS performance but don’t have a server administrator on staff.
Standard or High RAM?
Standard plans balance CPU and memory for most websites and applications. High RAM plans double the memory at each size, which helps with databases, caching and AI or automation tools.
Running apps like n8n or OpenClaw
Many open-source automation and AI tools run well on a VPS. If you’d rather not install and maintain them yourself, Managed Apps sets them up on a BetterMade server and keeps them updated and backed up.
Not ready for a full server?
Web Hosting Plus gives you dedicated CPU and RAM with cPanel, so you get the performance without the administration.
